Human Services oversees operations and activities of programs that serve older adults and their families and people with disabilities, as well as provides leadership for a regional transportation coordination program.
Included in the department are the activities of the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) and its associated programs: the Regional Long Term Care Ombudsman, our Information, Referral and Assistance Center, and the Family Caregiver Support Program.
The Medication Assistance Program helps lower-income adults age 18 and older get free or low cost prescription medicines. MAP works with the patient assistance programs of most pharmaceutical companies.
The Aging & Disability Resource Center strives to link older adults, adults with physical disabilities, and caregivers to information and services that support their independence and their ability to live at home.
The Regional Transportation Management Agency (RTMA) promotes the coordination of transportation services by working with all agencies and businesses that have a stake in meeting the transportation needs of our citizens.
