LSCOG's Planning/IT Department provides technical assistance to member governments for a wide array of activities. This assistance includes:
- Comprehensive Planning;
- Land Use & Zoning;
- Transportation Planning;
- Hazard Mitigation Planning;
- Housing Studies;
- 911 Implementation;
- Preparation and administration of state and federal grant programs;
- Large Format Copying/Scanning Services;

- Public employee photo id badges;

In addition, the Planning/IT staff provide the following external services to existing and prospective area business:
The Planning/IT Department is responsible for the LSCOG's internal information technology requirements including:
- Local Area Network (LAN) administration and security;
- Installation, ongoing support, and administration for all servers, desktop computers, & printers;
- Operation of the Geographic Information System (GIS);
- LSCOG employee business cards and photo id badges;
- Graphic design, & audio/visual support;
- Design and maintenance of the web sites:
